The major technical advances we've experienced in the past twenty years alone have created enormous challenges for copyright owners. Not only is it harder and harder to prevent infringement, but the line between what is infringement and what is fair use is becoming increasingly blurred.

Copyright FAQ was designed with all of these things in mind. We hope this site provides a copyright information road map for those who don't have time to sift through stacks of law books, but still need information quick and don't know where to start.

To get started, click on the heading above that most closely corresponds to your copyright question. If your question is not covered in the content on this site, leave a comment for us and we may feature your question in the future.

Note:

The content on this site is not intended to be legal advice. It is meant as a springboard for anyone who has questions about copyright issues. You should always read through the contracts you agree to when you sign up for anything you sign up for on the internet or otherwise, and if you are ever confronted with a copyright issue, you should consult a lawyer.
